Longevity & Health

What is longevity? Understanding healthy aging

Longevity is about living longer in good health. Learn which everyday factors matter and what research can—and cannot—tell us.

Longevity means more than lifespan

Longevity research examines why people age differently and how health can be maintained for as long as possible. A central concept is healthspan: the years of life spent in relatively good health.

There is no single treatment that can guarantee a longer or healthier life. Many claims about reversing aging go beyond the available evidence.

What can you influence?

Regular physical activity, balanced nutrition, sufficient sleep, avoiding tobacco and appropriate preventive care are practical foundations of healthy aging. Individual needs differ, so medical questions should be discussed with qualified professionals.

Wearables and diagnostic tools may help people observe trends, but a measurement alone does not establish a diagnosis or prove that an intervention extends lifespan.
